Editing for Medical Blog

To demonstrate my editing abilities, I’ve included an original blog published by Neuralink. I took on the task of reducing the word count by 50% while maintaining the messaging behind the piece. Editing decisions were made regarding word choice, grammar, and formatting.

Under normal circumstances I would not take so many liberties with an author’s original work, but this is an exercise created to highlight decisions I might make if assigned an editing task with strict requirements.

There are two documents below. The first document is the original, unedited blog post. The second document is the edited version, where the task given was to reduce the word cound by half without losing the overall message of the blog post. The editor was also expected to catch and correct any grammatical or formatting errors, and was given authorization to make rewrites as needed.
